Computable Operations on Compact Subsets of Metric Spaces with Applications to Fréchet Distance and Shape Optimization

We extend the Theory of Computation on real numbers, continuous real functions, and bounded closed Euclidean subsets, to compact metric spaces (X, d): thereby generically including computational and optimization problems over higher types, such as the compact ‘hyper’ spaces of (i) nonempty closed subsets of X w.r.t. Hausdorff metric, and of (ii) equicontinuous functions on X . The thus obtained...

A Class of compact operators on homogeneous spaces

Let  $varpi$ be a representation of the homogeneous space $G/H$, where $G$ be a locally compact group and  $H$ be a compact subgroup of $G$. For  an admissible wavelet $zeta$ for $varpi$  and $psi in L^p(G/H), 1leq p <infty$, we determine a class of bounded  compact operators  which are related to continuous wavelet transforms on homogeneous spaces and they are called localization operators.

Ramadanov Conjecture and Line Bundles over Compact Hermitian Symmetric Spaces

We compute the Szegö kernels of the unit circle bundles of homogeneous negative line bundles over a compact Hermitian symmetric space. We prove that their logarithmic terms vanish in all cases and, further, that the circle bundles are not diffeomorphic to the unit sphere in Cn for Grassmannian manifolds of higher ranks. In particular they provide an infinite family of smoothly bounded strictly ...

On αψ –Compact Spaces

The objective of this paper is to obtain the properties of αψcompact spaces by using nets, filterbase, αψ-complete accumulation points and so on. We also investigate some properties of αψ-continuous multifunctions and αψ-compact spaces in the context of multifunction.

Bernstein's Lethargy Theorem in Fréchet spaces

In this paper we consider Bernstein’s Lethargy Theorem (BLT) in the context of Fréchet spaces. Let X be an infinite-dimensional Fréchet space and let V = {Vn} be a nested sequence of subspaces of X such that Vn ⊆ Vn+1 for any n ∈ N and X = ⋃∞ n=1 Vn. Let en be a decreasing sequence of positive numbers tending to 0. Under an additional natural condition on sup{dist(x, Vn)}, we prove that there e...
